Dorothy Green

Dorothy Green, 93, of 5 West Lane, Latham, N.Y., formerly of Lee, died Monday at Northwoods at Rosewood Gardens Extended Care Facility in Rensselaer, N.Y. Born in Lee on March 1, 1909, daughter of M.T. and Elizabeth Smith Fairfield, she was a graduate of Lenox High School and a 1929 graduate of the former Henry W. Bishop III Memorial School of Nursing. While in this area, she attended St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Colonie Senior Citizens. Her husband, Chester Green, whom she married July 11, 1931, died in 1981. She leaves two daughters, Carolyn Blake of San Diego and Dorothy Sies of Burnt Hills, N.Y.; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by a son, Douglas Green, in 1997. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service for Dorothy Green will be held in Pittsfield Cemetery on June 29 at 1 with the Rev. James C. Dannals, rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY, 12205 in Mrs. Green's memory. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA, is in charge of arrangements.
