Irene Kelly, 100, of Berkshire Retirement Home died there Wednesday evening. She had been a longtime resident of 181 Elm St. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 16, 1901, daughter of William R. and Bridget Finnegan Mountain, she was a graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School and the former Berkshire Business College. She was first employed by GE for a short time and later with the Federal Security Agency, Bureau of Old Age and Survivors Insurance Agency, the forerunner of the Social Security Administration. She worked in Washington, D.C., before returning here and working in the Pittsfield office. Mrs. Kelly was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Her husband of nearly 30 years, Raymond H. Kelly, died June 15, 1982. Her closest survivors are three great-nieces. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning Monday at 9:30 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church in care of the funeral home.
