Jeannette Oparowski

Jeannette Margaret Oparowski, 71, of 51 East Hoosac St. died Saturday at home. Born in Pittsfield on May 5, 1931, daughter of Peter and Blanche Gromaski Lingoski, she was educated in schools there. She moved to Adams in 1952. She was a seamstress for several local textile companies, including the former Hunter Outdoor Products and CB Sports companies in North Adams, and the former Waverly Fabrics in Adams. She had also worked at the former Elmvale Worsted Co. in Pittsfield. Mrs. Oparowski was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening and decorating her home. She and her husband, Theodore Oparowski, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 23. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Theodore Oparowski II of Elkins, N.H., and Paul Oparowski of Adams; three daughters, Diane Donovan of North Adams, Desiree Hakes of Cheshire and Rosanne Juno of Adams; a brother, Stanley Lingoski of Pittsfield; three sisters, Sophie Cadenelli, Alice Kruczkowski and Stella Comalli, all of Pittsfield, and 13 grandchildren. A daughter, Cynthia Oparowski, died July 21, 1957. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to a charitable trust to be established in her name through AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, 01220, which is in charge of arrangements.
