Kathleen Bradford Ryan, 90, owner and resident of the Williamsville Inn, died Saturday at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 8, 1911, daughter of James B. and Lottie Garraway Bradford, she moved with her family to Nutley, N.J., as an infant and attended schools there. She graduated Phi Betta Kappa from Rutgers University in 1933. She moved to Mountain Lakes, N.J., in 1947. Mrs. Ryan was the owner of the Williamsville Inn with her daughter and partner, Gail Ryan, since 1990 when they moved to the Berkshires. She was active in running the inn until a few years ago. In the 1950s, she started K.B. Ryan Real Estate in New Jersey, which she ran for more than 30 years. She was active with the American Association of University Women and the Mountain Lakes Symphony Society, and enjoyed her weekly bridge games. Her husband, William Edward Ryan, whom she married in November 1933, died in 1987. Besides her daughter with whom she resided, she leaves a son, William James Ryan of Alford. There will be a memorial celebration on Sunday, June 9, at 2 at the Williamsville Inn. Mrs. Ryan requested that donations to HospiceCare in the Berkshires Inc. would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers. Contributions should be sent in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She was blessed to receive loving care from all the HospiceCare staff and volunteers and to have the ability to pass away in the peace of her home.
