Dayla C. Bechta

Dayla C. Naylor Bechta, 62, of 210 Columbia St. died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Los Angeles on April 22, 1940, daughter of Otto and Bertha Tenczar Andrews, she moved to Adams as a child and attended schools there. She received her certificate in licensed practical nursing from C.H. McCann Technical School in North Adams. She served in the Marine Corps for two years. Mrs. Bechta was employed as a nurse at the former Adams Nursing Homes in Adams and Williamstown and for several years at North Adams Regional Hospital. She was a member of Berkshire Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lanesboro. She and her husband, George F. Bechta, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary May 27. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Robert Naylor of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, April Haylock of Hartford, Maine; two stepsons, Leonard Bechta of Chicopee and Francis Bechta of Springfield; three stepdaughters, Veronica Bechta of Holyoke, Patricia Bechta of Longmeadow and Adele Bechta of Springfield; two sisters, Gayle Andrews of Adams and Shirley Lincoln of Cheshire; a granddaughter; seven stepgrandchildren, and three stepgreat-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted today, Friday, at 1 at Berkshire Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lanesboro, by Pastor Gary Wagner. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Berkshire Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church through AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, MA 01220, which is in charge of arrangements.
