Blanche Banach

Blanche Banach, 83, of 220 Grove St. died Saturday at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Housatonic on April 6, 1919, daughter of Joseph J. and Aleksandra Ptak Zarimba, she was a 1937 graduate of the former Searles High School. She was employed by the former Great Barrington Manufacturing Co., the American Institute for Economic Research and as a billing clerk at the former Home Gas Co. for more than 20 years. She retired in 1983. Mrs. Banach was a communicant of All Saints' Church and a member of its Rosary Solidarity. She enjoyed her yard, flowers and reading. She leaves a brother, Joseph W. Zarimba of Housatonic. Services will be Thursday, June 13, at 9 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at All Saints' Church concelebrated by the Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor, and Blanche's cousin, the Rev. Jan Harasim of Womza, Poland. Burial will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery.
