Bernadette Ford

Bernadette E. Ford, 80, of 6605 Pointe West Boulevard, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of 125 North St., died Monday at Blake Hospital Medical Center in Bradenton, where she was admitted Friday. Born in Blackstone on Dec. 11, 1921, daughter of Deus Giguere and Mary Rose Raymond Giguere, she attended schools there and moved to North Adams at the age of 14. She graduated from Drury High School in 1938. Mrs. Ford was first employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. She was last employed for 15 years in the cafeteria of the Silvio Conte Middle School until her retirement in 1983. She moved to Florida in 2001. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Her husband, Frank Michael Ford, whom she married Oct. 12, 1942, died Aug. 7, 1996. She leaves a daughter, Mary Anne Ferrara of Bradenton, with whom she made her home; two brothers, Antonio Giguere of Milford, Conn., and Silvio Giguere of Woonsocket, R.I.; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Jean Giardina, who died Nov. 12, 2001. A brother, Herve Giguere, and a sister, Theresa Marchacos, are deceased. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place in St. Anthony of Padua Church Parish Center at a time and date to be announced. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Liferight of North Adams in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
