Jovina Osnato

Jovina Osnato, 88, of Castle Hill Road, Glendale, died Saturday at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in New York City on Sept. 19, 1913, daughter of Henry and Pauline Warworski Tracanno, she graduated from high school and went on to nursing school. She was employed as a nurse. She married Arthur Vincent Osnato on April 15, 1936, at St. Francis Church in New York City. They entered many dance contests in New York City and in Roslyn, Long Island, where they later resided. In 1982, they moved to Stockbridge from Surrey, Maine. Mr. Osnato died May 15, 1995. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge and the Stockbridge Grange. She also was a member and past officer of the Glendale Fire Co.'s Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by a son, Fredric H. Osnato, who died Nov. 15, 1958. She leaves no immediate survivors. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 14, at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge, with the Rev. Steven McGuigan, pastor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Those who knew Jovina Osnato are invited to come and pay their respects during calling hours on Thursday, June 13, from 3 until 6 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington.
