Arthur L. Owens, 92, of 33 River Road, Epsom, N.H., formerly of Lanesboro, died Monday at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Concord, N.H. Born in Greenfield on Jan. 22, 1910, son of Christian and Anna Dohring Schleagenhauf, he attended schools in Greenfield and in Pittsfield. He had resided in Lanesboro until moving to New Hampshire 10 years ago. Mr. Owens was employed by The Berkshire Eagle in the composing room for 49 years, retiring in 1975. While in Lanesboro, he served as tax collector and town treasurer. His wife, the former Thelma M. Sykes, whom he married March 18, 1933, died in 1991. He leaves three daughters, Nancy Gifford of Epsom, N.H., Betsey Morritt of Northwood, N.H., and Mary Linderschmid of Lanesboro; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lanesboro. Calling hours will be today, Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Cornerstone Christian Academy Scholarship Fund, P.O.
