Virginia Green

Virginia Green, 70, of 3 Dewey Way died yesterday at Fairview Hospital. She had been a longtime resident of Jug End Road in South Egremont. Born in Great Barrington on Jan. 29, 1932, daughter of Monty and Katina Dellea Rossi, she attended schools in Housatonic. She had worked for many years at the former Jug End Barn resort in South Egremont until it closed. She leaves four sons, William Touponce of Glastonbury, Conn., John Green of Sheffield, Monty Green of South Egremont and Thomas Green of Pittsfield; four daughters, Jennifer Ochtman of Winthrop, Maine, Tina Hurrey and Linda Green, both of Torrington, Conn., and Melissa Ireland of Pittsfield; three brothers, Louis Rossi of Alford, Harry Hughes of South Egremont and Jacob Rossi of Pittsfield; a sister, Elizabeth Houghtaling of Virginia; 11 grandchildren, and a great-grandson. The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, June 20, at 1 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington with the Rev. Steven McGuigan officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 until the time of the funeral service.
