Michael J. Cullen

Michael J. Cullen, 61, of Clearwater, Fla., a native of Pittsfield, died Saturday at Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Fla. Born in Pittsfield on June 6, 1941, son of Donald F. Cullen Sr. and Katherine Maloney Cullen, he was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from American International College in Springfield. He moved to Pinellas Park in 1972 and, later, to Clearwater, where he resided for about 15 years. At the age of 11, he became a candlepin setter and, later, a repair mechanic and manager of various bowling centers. In 1980, he became owner and president of Cullen Bowling Supply in Clearwater, Fla. He was past president of the Pinellas Park Rotary Club. He leaves two sons, Shawn Johnson of Cohoes, N.Y., and Steven Cullen of Zephyrhills, Fla., and three sisters, Kathleen Gennari of Dalton, Susan Odell of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Linda Hunter of Orange Park, Fla.
