Douglas R. Bond

Douglas Rice Bond, 73, of 8 Crandall St. died early yesterday morning at North Adams Commons. Born in Adams on Dec. 13, 1928, son of Nelson H. and Marion Alderman Bond, he attended school in Adams and Belchertown. Mr. Bond worked for the Adams Department of Public Works and later for J.H. Maxymillian Construction Inc. for 14 years. He retired several years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Adams, where he was an usher. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He leaves a brother, Arthur N. Bond, with whom he resided. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 at AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. The Rev. Donald E. Gray, pastor of First Baptist Church of Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Street Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Adams through the funeral home.
