Elaine Carnevale

Elaine M. Carnevale, 85, of 88 Calumet St. died Saturday evening at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for five years. Born in Pittsfield on July 27, 1916, daughter of Emile and Helene Olanie Koscher, she attended local schools. A homemaker, she had been employed by the former Edie's Maternity Shop on North Street for seven years during the 1960s. Mrs. Carnevale was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Her husband, Anthony R. Carnevale, whom she married in 1937, died in 1993. She leaves a son, Anthony B. Carnevale of Pittsfield; a daughter, Jeanne M. Zdanis of Pittsfield; a brother, Emile Koscher of Scotia, N.Y.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be tomorrow, July 10, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
