Nicolena Pugliese

Nicolena "Lena" Pugliese, 98, formerly of 384 Ashland St., died yesterday at Williamstown Commons, 25 Adams Road, Williamstown, where she had resided since January 28, 1998. Born in North Adams on Dec. 6, 1903, daughter of Francesco and Maria Barbuto Pugliese, she attended local schools. Miss Pugliese was employed by H.W. Clark Biscuit Co. on Ashland Street until the plant closed in 1952. She worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. until retiring in 1968. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Italian Catholic Girls Club and the Sprague Retirees. She leaves nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, July 11, at 2 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 12:30 until the time of the funeral. Predeceased by five sisters and four brothers, Rose Lanoue, Mary Farinon, Jeanette Helme, Anna M. Pugliese, Celia E. Pugliese, Louis Pugliese, Dominic Pugliese, Philip Pugliese and Joseph Pugliese.
