Alice McAndrews

Alice McAndrews, 76, of Todd Drive, Attleboro, formerly of Clarksburg, died yesterday at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Born in Clarksburg on June 23, 1926, she was the daughter of Richard and Clara Bissaillon Calnan. She was an electromechanical draftsman for the former General Electric Co. in Pittsfield, and other engineering firms until 1956. She had resided in Attleboro for 35 years. A homemaker, she was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Attleboro and a member of the Massachusetts Citizens for Life. She leaves her husband, James P. McAndrews; five sons, Bartholomew B. McAndrews of Houston and James P. McAndrews Jr., Gerald F. and Matthew C. McAndrews, all of Attleboro, Raymond A. McAndrews of Taunton; two daughters, Rita McAndrews Giblin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Christine E. Bell of Maynard, and 12 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Richard Calnan, James Calnan, Frances Robert and Eileen McShane. A funeral will be held on Friday, July 12, at 9 a.m. from DUFFY-POULE FUNERAL HOME, 20 Peck St., Attleboro, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden St., Attleboro. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will take place on Friday at 1:15 p.m. in the V.A. National Cemetery of Massachusetts, McArthur Blvd., Bourne.
