James D. Thrasher

James Dale Thrasher, 64, of 27 1/2 Commercial St. died yesterday morning at the North Adams Regional Hospital, where he had recently been admitted. Death followed a brief illness. Born in Marshall, Mich., on July 26, 1937, son of S. Paul and Pauline Sanders Thrasher, he attended schools there. He came to Adams many years ago. Mr. Thrasher was employed as an auto mechanic for most of his career. Upon moving to Adams, he became employed with the former CANA School as an activities coordinator. He retired early with a disability. He leaves three sons, James D. Thrasher II of Adams, Douglas Thrasher of Colon, Mich., and Rodney Thrasher of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Tanya Thrasher of Springfield, Ohio, and Barbara Cowles of Coldwater, Mich.; three brothers, Larry Thrasher of Union City, Mich., Milton "Mickey" Thrasher of San Darte, Calif., and Ronald Thrasher of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Shirley Thrasher of Phoenix, and his former wife, Rhea Lordof Adams. Following cremation, an inurnment service is planned for a later date to be announced.
