Bernard Schulman

Bernard Schulman, 97, of Old Cheshire Road and Delray Beach, Fla., died yesterday at his home in Delray Beach. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Aug. 25, 1904, son of Abraham and Anna Rosen Schulman, he graduated from Commercial High School in Brooklyn and attended the University of Missouri. He moved to Lanesboro permanently in 1970. Mr. Schulman and his wife, the former Henrietta Gans, established Camp Mohawk in 1946. His family still operates the summer camp. During the 1930s, he was in the tobacco business, buying and selling Connecticut Shade, and later was a representative of Yale and Town Lock Co. in Connecticut. He became a specialist in electrical-lock applications. He enjoyed photography and had a darkroom in his home. He leaves a son, Ralph Schulman of Lanesboro; a brother, Sam Schulman of Scarsdale, N.Y.; two sisters, Beatrice "Bea" Meltzer of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., and Gerry Vladimir of Hanover, N.H., and a grandson.
