Webster Seguin Jr.

Webster Delry Seguin Jr., 47, of 17 Holmes Road died Sunday as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Hinsdale. Born in Baton Rouge, La., on Sept. 27, 1954, son of Webster D. Seguin Sr. of Denham Springs, La., and Sherra McKay Seguin Ruegg of Baton Rouge, he graduated from schools there. He also attended Berkshire Community College. He served in the Marines. Mr. Seguin was a self-employed heavy equipment mechanic for several years, retiring in 1997 because of ill health. He was a member of the Dalton Veterans of Foreign Wars. An avid Harley-Davidson rider, he organized the first annual St. Jude Children's Hospital fund-raiser motorcycle ride at the Hinsdale Home Club in 2001 and was an organizer of the second to be held Sunday. Besides his parents, he leaves his wife, the former Dianne M. Shuey, whom he married Aug. 23, 1975; four daughters, Tamara L. Seguin of Hinsdale, Suzanne M. Seguin and Rebecca A. Seguin, both of Pittsfield, and Shannon Bayham-Millet of Grosse Tete, La.; four brothers, Eric Seguin and Daniel Ruegg, both of Baton Rouge, Toby Seguin of Denham Springs and Clayton Seguin of Erie, Mich.; two sisters, Aniece Galloway and Alana Granedos, both of Baton Rouge; his maternal grandmother, Eleanor Bernard of Baton Rouge; his stepfather, Ronald Ruegg of Baton Rouge, and a grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 17, at 7 p.m. at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
