Helen M. Beneat

Helen M. Beneat, 91, of State Road died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Lenox on Feb. 4, 1911, daughter of Frederick and Catherine Clancy Newton, she attended schools in Richmond and in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Beneat was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Her husband, William J. Beneat, whom she married July 23, 1939, died Nov. 17, 1994. She leaves a daughter, Gloria A. Beneat, with whom she made her home. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Great Barrington. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Beneat may be made to the Great Barrington Police Association in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
