William M. Duryea

William Michael Duryea, 28, of Waldorf, Md., died Wednesday at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md. He was the grandson of Theodore and June Duryea of South Egremont. Born in Honolulu on Sept. 26, 1973, son of William Theodore Duryea of Hollywood, Md., and Michele Sadera Duryea of Waldorf, he was raised in a military family and attended schools around the country. He enjoyed the arts and music and played the guitar and wrote songs. He also enjoyed using the computer to learn new things. Through his travels, he experienced many cultures and was studying Spanish. Besides his parents and grandparents, he leaves his wife, the former Melissa Dee Lewis, whom he married in Waldorf; two sons, John Matthew Lewis and Shane Michael Duryea, at home, and two sisters, Carol Marie Duryea and Celeste Angela Cunningham, both of Waldorf. The family will gather at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, July 30, at 11, with a graveside service at 11:15 in the family plot at Our Lady of the Valley Cemetery, Sheffield, conducted by the Rev. John Lis, pastor of Our Lady of the Valley Church. There will be no calling hours. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
