Lillian DelSoldato

Lillian J. DelSoldato, 65, of State Line Road died yesterday at Willowood Commons, where she had resided for a month. Born in West Stockbridge on Aug. 30, 1936, daughter of William and Carmella Pianpiano Verchot, she attended local schools and the former Williams High School in Stockbridge. She was employed at Bartlett's Apple Orchard in Richmond, retiring in the mid-1990s. She also worked at the West Stockbridge Public Market and Queensborough Spirits. Mrs. DelSoldato was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, Scrabble and softball, doing crossword puzzles, going to the races and taking trips to Cape Cod. She and her husband, Joseph DelSoldato, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 11. They were married in St. Patrick's Church. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Darlene DelSoldato of Pittsfield; three sons, Joseph DelSoldato of West Stockbridge, William DelSoldato of Lee and Mark DelSoldato of Pittsfield; two sisters, Helen Hawkins of Glendale and Rose Springstube of West Stockbridge; two brothers, Robert Verchot of Amherst and Anthony Verchot of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Jones, in 1998, and by two brothers, Francis Verchot in 1946 and Jack Verchot in 1996. A private funeral service will be conducted Friday at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Steven McGuigan, pastor of St. Patrick's Church. Those who desire may make memorial contributions to the West Stockbridge EMT Squad or the Richmond Ambulance Squad through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
