Jean Rufo

Jean Rufo, 71, of Agawam, formerly of Pittsfield, died Thursday at home. Born Jan. 21, 1931, in Pittsfield, daughter of Leon and Anna Tarantino Dragone, she was a 1948 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She had resided in Agawam since 1975. Mrs. Rufo owned and operated Noah's Ark Pre-School in Springfield and also ran Act II Clothing Store on Main Street in Agawam. Her husband, the Rev. Gino Rufo, died in 2000. They were married Dec. 10, 1955. She leaves two sons, Greg Rufo of Springfield and Victor Rufo of Feeding Hills; two brothers, Olindo Dragone of Brimfield and John Dragone of Springfield; five sisters, Olga and Mary Dragone, Ruth Zeronda and Esther DiLorenzo, all of Springfield, and Evelyn Brewer of Adams, and a granddaughter. The funeral was held at the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME Monday at 10 a.m. followed by burial in Springfield Street Cemetery. Visiting hours were Sunday from 4 to 7.
