Alice Davis

CHESHIRE -- Alice Davis, 72, of Naples, Fla., and Cheshire, died July 26 at home in Naples. Born in Adams on Jan. 4, 1930, daughter of Albert and Bertha Langer Kordana, she was a 1948 graduate of the former Adams High School and received an associate degree from Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow in 1951. In 1968, she opened Ka-D-Lyn Gift Shoppe in her home in Cheshire. She was relocated the business to Lee and then to Pittsfield in 1980. In 1983, the shop moved to the Lenox House Country Shops. In February 1986, she opened a new shop, Ambiance, in Lenox. Mrs. Davis also was employed by GE in the plastics division and taught home economics at Cheshire School. She enjoyed traveling. She and her husband, Jerry Davis, were married Oct. 4, 1952. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Carolyn Davis of Naples, and Katy Nichols, of Kinderhook, N.Y.; a brother, Stanley Kordana of Massachusetts, and two grandchildren. A daughter, Patricia Davis, is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private graveside ceremony for Alice Davis was held in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Survivors also include a "son-in-love," Jon Nichols, and two grandchildren, Jason and Chelsea, all of Kinderhook, N.Y.; her loving aunt and uncle, Stacia and Fritz Langer, and their family; two nieces, and a nephew/godson. Mrs. Davis will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends, who will remember her as a life-loving, warm, joyous and gentle woman. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
