Richard Joseph Szurek

Richard Joseph Szurek, 65, of 111 East Road died Saturday afternoon at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on Aug. 21, 1937, son of Anthony J. and Katherine J. Rusek Szurek, he attended Adams schools. Mr. Szurek was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for many years, retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. He leaves an uncle, Stanley Rusek of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Richard J. Szurek will be Friday at 9:15 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital through the funeral home.
