Joan M. Stupplebeen, 63, of 158 Christian Hill Road died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Great Barrington on Oct. 7, 1938, daughter of John Crine Sr. and Helen Briggs Crine, she was a 1956 graduate of the former Searles High School. She was a home health aide for the Lee Visiting Nurse Association. She enjoyed reading and helping others. She and her husband, Donald R. Stupplebeen Sr., would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Oct. 4. They were married in Egremont. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Donald R. Stupplebeen Jr. of Sheffield; a daughter, Stacey Stupplebeen of Great Barrington; four brothers, Everett Crine of Wisconsin, John Crine Jr. of Dover Plains, N.Y., Richard Crine of Sheffield and Donald Crine of Great Barrington; two sisters, Alice Jaquins of Housatonic and Judy Moro of Great Barrington, and a grandson. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Private services for Joan M. Crine Stupplebeen, who died Sept. 19, 2002, will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
