SisterMary Cantalicia Filip

SisterMary Cantalicia Filip, 105, died yesterday at the Holy Family Infirmary of the Felician Sisters' Convent in Enfield, Conn. Born in Adams on Dec. 29, 1896, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Stefanik Filip, she held many administrative and teaching positions in institutions staffed by the Felician Sisters in Middle Atlantic and New England states during her 89 years as a member of the order. She leaves a stepsister, Julia Filip of Williamstown. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A visitation period for Sister Mary Cantalicia Filip will be held today, Wednesday, from 2 to 4:30, at which time she will be transferred to the Convent Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place tomorrow, Oct. 17, at 10:30 in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel, Enfield. Committal service will follow in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Felician Sisters' Retirement Fund, 1315 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082. Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, is in charge of arrangements. She also leaves two nieces, Irene Woftowski and Ilene Maluda, both of Pittsfield.
