Emeline Agnes Courtney

Emeline Agnes Courtney, 102, of 83 Franklin St. died Wednesday afternoon at the Fowler Nursing Center in Guilford, Conn. Born in Perth, Ontario, Canada, on Dec. 24, 1899, daughter of James and Anna MacFaden Courtney, she attended schools in Perth, including St. John's Academy. She came to North Adams in 1927. She was last employed by the former Boston Store in North Adams, retiring in 1964. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a member of its Rosary Society. She was the last of her immediate family. Survivors include nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Emeline Agnes Courtney will take place Saturday at 10:30 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery, Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30. Donations may be made to the St. Francis Building Fund in care of the funeral home. Survivors include nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Five sisters and a brother are deceased, including Margaret Courtney, Theresa Courtney, Loretta Lanoue, Mary Rutherford, Ann Little and John Courtney.
