Robert B. Morrison

Robert B. Morrison, 85, of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, Vt., formerly of Ashland Street Apartments, died Thursday at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Born in Providence, R.I., on April 19, 1917, son of James S. and Mary McQuarry Morrison, he was raised by his stepmother, Mary Reid Morrison. He attended schools in North Adams. An Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he served as a private first class and received a number of decorations. He worked as a laborer for several farms in Connecticut and Massachusetts as well as several construction companies in Berkshire County. He also had been employed in the color and dye shops at the former Windsor Print Works and former Arnold Print Works. He leaves two sisters, Alice Bratcher of Williamstown and Jeannie Lemieux of Pownal, Vt., and a brother, Gordon Reid Morrison of Williamstown. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Burial for Robert B. Morrison will take place in the family plot in North Burial Ground, Main St., Providence, R.I., at the convenience of the family. At his request, there will be no funeral service or calling hours. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Leonard Morrison. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 Main St., North Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
