Eugene Charles Burnell Sr

Eugene Charles Burnell Sr., 62, of 27 Taft St. died Saturday at home. Born in Burlington, Vt., on Oct. 1, 1940, son of the late Joseph and Marion "Betty" Bouchard Burnell, he attended Brandon (Vt.) Training School. Mr. Burnell was employed by Strohmaier's Farm in Pownal, Vt. He later worked at the Publick House Restaurant and the Vermont Steak House, both in Bennington, Vt., and was last employed by the Taconic Restaurant in Williamstown. He and his wife, the former Mary Jane LaCross, were married March 28, 1969, in Bennington. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Betty Jean Ostrander of North Adams; two sons, Eugene C. Burnell Jr. and Dennis Wayne Burnell, of Berlin, N.Y.; two brothers, Andy Burnell of Brattleboro and Dennis Burnell of Jericho, Vt.,; a sister, Claire St. Don of San Antonio, and 14 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Eugene Charles Burnell Sr. will be Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, with the Rev. Daniel Nolan, parochial vicar of the North Adams Catholic Community, officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral.
