Francis H. Delisle, 85

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Francis H. Delisle, 85, of 16 Wall St., died Tuesday evening, Jan. 14, 2003, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on July 22, 1917, a son of Israel and Rosanna Senecal Delisle, he attended schools in North Adams, including the former Notre Dame Parochial School. Mr. Delisle was employed at the former Arnold Print Works for several years, then by the Sprague Electric Co. as supervisor and section leader for 43 years, retiring in 1984. He was a former member of the Hairpin Turners Square Dance Association, and a member of the Northern Berkshire Dog Training Club. He was also a member of the Sunsider's CB Club. He was an enthusiastic sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and driving his snowmobile. He was a communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, and in his later years attended St. Anthony of Padua Church. He leaves his wife, Rose Cardinal Delisle, whom he married on April 22, 1960; two sons, Robert C. Delisle of Danvers and Edward F. Delisle of Miami; five grandchildren, Robin Gregory, Scott Delisle, Jennifer Delisle, David Delisle and Eric Delisle, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Howard J. Delisle and Clarence Delisle, and a sister, Olive Blanche Napierkoski. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Delisle will take place Friday at 8:15 at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine on Massachusetts Ave. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the Northern Berkshire Food Project or to the North Adams Salvation Army through the funeral home.
