William G. Tisdale

William G. Tisdale, 78, of Wichita Falls, Texas, a former resident of Halls Ground, Clarksburg, died Monday at the W. Erle & Emma White Hospice Center in Wichita Falls. Born in North Adams on Sept. 26, 1924, son of Clinton and Lillian Greep Tisdale, he grew up in Clarksburg and graduated from Drury High School. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific theater. Following his military service, he was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co., first in North Adams and later in Visalia, Calif., before being transferred to Texas. He retired as general foreman of the Wichita Falls plant after 30 years with the company. Mr. Tisdale was a communicant of University United Methodist Church, Wichita Falls. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Wichita Falls Senior Golf Association. His wife, Beatrice "Betty" Tisdale, died in 1997. He leaves two daughters, Kelly Tisdale and Tracy Tisdale, both of Wichita Falls; a sister, Elizabeth A. DiMassimo of Pittsfield and North Naples, Fla., and four grandchildren.
