Dorothy Marie Attalla

Dorothy Marie Attalla, 89, of 73 Chestnut St. died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on July 8, 1913, daughter of Thomas D. and Mary Elizabeth Corsiglia Miller, she was a 1932 graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School. Mrs. Attalla was an assistant librarian at the North Adams Public Library, retiring in 1982. She had previously worked for the former Windsor and Arnold print works. She was a longtime communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She also was a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court Margaret 629 and an avid reader. Her husband, Phillip K. Attalla, whom she married July 22, 1940, in St. Francis' Church, died Jan. 27, 1968. She leaves a daughter, Lorraine Attalla of North Adams, with whom she made her home; and a sister, Constance Sinclitico of North Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Dorothy Marie Miller Attalla will take place Friday at 12:45 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:30 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the Adult Day Health Center Events Fund in North Adams or the North Adams Public Library Renovation Fund through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. She was predeceased by a sister, Natalie Cary, who died Dec. 28, 2002.
