Mary Oleskiewicz

Mary Oleskiewicz, 94, formerly of 75 Commercial St., died Tuesday evening at Sweet Brook in Williamstown, where she had resided since 1998. Born in Oswego, N.Y., on Nov. 10, 1908, daughter of Paul and Antonia Kobas Banas, she came to Adams as a child with her parents and attended local schools. She moved to New York City where she worked for the Redmond family as a domestic for several years. After returning to Adams, Mrs. Oleskiewicz worked at the former Berkshire Hathaway Co., the former Greylock Rest Home and the former Greylock Mills in North Adams for several years. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. Her husband, Albert Oleskiewicz, whom she married Nov. 11, 1939, died Aug. 5, 1992. She leaves a son, Albert Oleskiewicz Jr. of Danville, Va.; a daughter, Joan DiLego of Adams; a sister, Josephine Bober of Adams, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary Oleskiewicz will be Friday, Feb. 28, at 9 at TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, celebrated by the Rev. Walter Gurgul, MIC. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Private calling hours for the family will be Thursday from 5 to 7. She leaves her son-in-law, Francis DiLego; four grandchildren, Lisa DiLego, Francis DiLego, Lucien Oleskiewicz and Christopher Oleskiewicz; and three great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Lucas and Zachary DiLego. She was predeceased by a brother, Andrew Banas.
