Bernard P. Mallon

Bernard P. Mallon, 62, of 44 Main St. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield of a heart attack. Born in Sparkill, N.Y., on Dec. 15, 1940, he was a 1958 graduate of St. Agnes' High School there. He moved to Stockbridge in 1967. Mr. Mallon was a chef and had been a partner in Chez Vous, a catering service, since 1985. He also had been a chef at the Ganesh Cafe in Lenox and, later, at John Henry's at the Stockbridge Station. In 1989, he and his partners, Joseph Wheaton and Jeffrey Henry, spent three days baking and frosting 66 cake layers to create a 230-pound birthday cake for Stockbridge's 250th anniversary. He leaves many friends. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Memorial services for Bernard P. Mallon, who died Saturday, March 1, 2003, will be announced at a later date. There will be no calling hours. BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
