Joan L. Gulotta, 84
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.â€' Joan L. Gulotta, 84, of 29 Frederick Lane, which was formerly 175 Miller Ave., died Monday, March 3, 2003, at Fairview Hospital.
Born in New Haven, Conn., on Dec. 8, 1918, daughter of Albert and Louise Connolly Cane, she attended Sheffield schools and graduated from the former Sheffield High School in 1936.
A homemaker, Mrs. Gulotta was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church and a member and treasurer of its Women's Club. She was active in the annual Catholic Stewardship Appeal for many years and enjoyed gardening and knitting.
She and her husband, Anthony Gulotta, were married at Our Lady of the Valley Church on Aug. 24, 1941.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Peter Gulotta of Turners Falls, Vincent Gulotta of Harwich and Michael Gulotta of Sheffield; a daughter, Antoinnette Gulotta of Sheffield; a brother, Charles Cane of Great Barrington, and two granddaughters, Amy and Kara Gulotta.
She was predeceased by another brother, Joseph Cane.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Joan L. Gulotta will be Thursday, March 6, at 9 at Birches-Roy Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at Our Lady of the Valley Church by the Rev. John Lis, pastor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, March 5, from 4 to 7.
Burial will be in Our Lady of the Valley Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Our Lady of the Valley Church Fund in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
