Alice Elizabeth Delphia

Alice Elizabeth Delphia, 83, of 25 Blue Pine Circle, Penfield, N.Y., a former resident of Draper Avenue for over 50 years, died Wednesday at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. Born in Pittsfield Sept. 7, 1919, daughter of George and Elizabeth Roy Lagasse, she attended schools in New Bedford. Mrs. Delphia was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and St. Mary's Church. She liked classical music and going to Tanglewood, and she also bowled and read. Her husband, Lawrence K. Delphia, whom she married Sept. 5, 1942, at St. Hyacinth Church in New Bedford, died Dec. 1, 1991. She leaves five sons, Lawrence J. Delphia, Robert A. Delphia, Alan F. Delphia, and Richard P. Delphia, all of Pittsfield, and Steven R. Delphia of Munson; four daughters, Carol A. Downs of Richboro, Pa., Sandra E. Luzis and Linda M. Martin, both of Pittsfield, and Gail L. Rodriguez of Penfield, with whom she made her home; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Alice Elizabeth Delphia, who died Wednesday, March 12, will be held Monday, March 17, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10, at St. Charles' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Delphia may be made to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

George Lagasse was the son of Adolph Lagasse and MÃ©lanie Berthiaume. Adolph was an undertaker in New Bedford City, Bristol, Massachusetts. He was the son of Pierre LagacÃ© and Marcelline David.
