Helen Matuszak

Helen Matuszak, 89, of 13 Richmond St., died early yesterday morning at North Adams Commons. Born in Adams on Aug. 5, 1913, daughter of Anthony and Barbara Maslanka Armata, she attended schools there. Mrs. Matuszak was employed by Williams College in Williamstown for 10 years, retiring in 1968. Prior to that, she was employed as a weaver for 25 years with the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates, until the company closed in 1957. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus’ Church in Adams. Her husband, Stephen Matuszak, whom she married May 10, 1941, died Nov. 2, 1991. She leaves a son, Francis Matuszak of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Helen Matuszak will be celebrated Saturday, March 22, at 11 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be Saturday at TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME from 9:30 until the time of the service. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Frank Armata, Casimer Armata, Ned Armata and Joseph Armata, and a sister, Sella Flossic, are deceased.
