Rosia Marie Richard

Rosia Marie Richard, 96, formerly of 83 Dean St., died Wednesday at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown, where she was admitted April 30, 1996. Born April 18, 1906, in St. Edouard, Quebec, daughter of Hermenegilde and Oliva Delisle Lecuyer, she attended schools in Canada before moving to North Adams in 1927 with her family. Mrs. Richard was last employed for 20 years by the former Hoosac Cotton Mills. She was a longtime communicant of Notre Dame Church. She enjoyed cooking and homemaking. Her husband, Isadore J. Richard, whom she married Sept. 30, 1925, died June 20, 1991. She leaves two sons, Lionel J. Richard of North Adams and Norman J. Richard of New Windsor, N.Y.; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rosia Marie Richard will be Saturday, March 22, at 9 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Our Lady of Mercy Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Visiting hours will be private for family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory be made to Berkshire County Kids Place through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247. Mrs. Richard leaves six grandchildren, Diane Morrissey and Steven Richard, both of North Adams, Julie Richard of Stephentown, N.Y., Darryl Richard of Perkasie, Pa., Paul Richard of Monsey, N.Y., and Nadeen Gizzarelli of Newburg, N.Y.; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
