Eloise Deming

Eloise Deming, 81, of Clayton Road, Ashley Falls, died Tuesday at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born in Tolland, Conn., on May 12, 1921, daughter of Joseph and Esther Streeter Usher, she was a graduate of Stafford Springs (Conn.) High School. She had resided in Ashley Falls since 1947. Mrs. Deming was employed by GE in Bridgeport and Norwalk, Conn., until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and doing crossword puzzles. She and her husband, Kenneth H. Deming, were married Oct. 17, 1942, in Milford, Conn. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Jonathan Deming and Mark Deming, both of Ashley Falls, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A service of remembrance for Eloise Deming of Ashley Falls will be conducted Thursday, March 27, at 2 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington by the Rev. Betty LeGeyt, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church in Ashley Falls. The family will receive friends from 1 until the time of the service. She also leaves four grandchildren, Kimberley, Sarah, Timothy and Emily Deming and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Graf and Marjorie Couch, and three brothers, Owen, Marvin and Lawrence Usher. Those who desire may make memorial contributions to Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
