Rita Marguerite Allard, 80, of 56 Galvin Road died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted March 21. Born in North Adams on July 11, 1922, daughter of Harold and Georgianna Tetreault Donovan, she was a 1939 graduate of Drury High School. A homemaker, she was employed by the former Gavaert Co. of America in Williamstown prior to her marriage. Mrs. Allard was a communicant of Our Lady of the Incarnation Church and a member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion Auxiliary. She was a longtime caregiver for her mother-in-law. Her husband, Joseph Edmond Allard, whom she married May 11, 1946, died July 8, 1992. She leaves a daughter, Karen Norris of Ellsworth, N.H.; a son, Edward H. Allard of Clarksburg; and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rita Allard will be Tuesday, April 1, at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be Monday, March 31, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for a scholarship fund to be established in her memory. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Edward H. Allard and Billie Lynn Johnson Allard, RN, of Clarksburg; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Paul Norris of Ellsworth, N.H.; and six grandchildren, Scott Allard, Kate Allard, Jennifer Allard of Clarksburg, Elizabeth Norris, Erica Norris and Sara Norris of Ellsworth; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, George H. Donovan, on Dec. 2, 1979.
