Carol Ann Gleason

Carol Ann Gleason, 61, of Mohawk Trail died yesterday at Glens Falls (N.Y.) Hospital after being stricken Sunday at her camp in Crown Point, N.Y. Born in North Adams on Dec. 21, 1941, daughter of Dorothy Cyr Davis of Florida and the late Harold J. Davis, she attended schools in Florida and was a 1960 graduate of Drury High School in North Adams. Mrs. Gleason was employed by Williams College in the food service department for 30 years as a bookkeeper at the time of her death. She had previously worked for the former Shapiro Chevrolet in North Adams. She and her former husband, R. Alan Gleason, had owned and operated the former Four Pines Dairy on River Road in Clarksburg for several years. She enjoyed camping and fishing on Lake Champlain. She also enjoyed hunting and was an accomplished horseback rider. Her former husband died April 21, 1992. Besides her mother, she leaves two sons, Michael A. Gleason of North Adams and James K. Gleason of Fultondale, Ala.; two brothers, Ronald Davis of the town of Florida and Donald Davis of North Adams, and three grandchildren. Her twin, Kenneth Davis, died Feb. 3, 1962. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Carol Ann Davis Gleason will be Monday at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, followed by a Eucharist service at 11 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in North Adams with the Rev. Edward A. King, rector, as celebrant. Burial will take place in the spring in the family plot in Church Cemetery, Florida. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department or to the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home. Survivors include three grandchildren, Christopher Gleason, Erynn Gleason and Tyler Gleason. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Kenneth Davis, who died Feb. 3, 1962.
