William Henry Lewis

William Henry Lewis, 46, of Kitchen Brook Trailer Park died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 12, 1956, son of Beverly A. Pettibone Lewis of Hinsdale and the late Arthur J. Lewis Jr., he was a graduate of Hoosac Valley High School. Mr. Lewis was employed as a health-care worker at Meridian Associates in Pittsfield for 11 years. Previously, he had worked as a receiving manager at the former Kmart for 12 years and GE Plastics for two years, both in Pittsfield, and as a cook in several area restaurants. He enjoyed camping and his pet bird, Max. His former wife, Isabelle Scace, predeceased him. Besides his mother, he leaves five brothers, Steven E. Lewis, Paul A. Lewis and Kevin J. Lewis, all of Cheshire, Arthur H. Lewis of Adams and David W. Lewis of Sheffield; two sisters, Laurel Burquardt of Becket and Karen Lewis of Southwick. FUNERAL NOTICE -- William Henry Lewis, who died Sunday, April 20, 2003, also leaves several nieces and nephews and his pet bird, Max. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 23, at 11 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Jose Matos, pastor of Becket Federated Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Street Cemetery, Hinsdale. Calling hours will be today, Tuesday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton.
