Priscilla A. Lynds

Priscilla A. Lynds, 77, of Tobin Manor, 56 Maple St., Florence, died Saturday at home. She was the sister of Barbara V. Robins of Sheffield. Born in Northampton on June 24, 1925, daughter of Jesse R. and Myrle Streeter Porter, she attended schools in Cummington and graduated from the former Williamsburg High School. Mrs. Lynds had last been employed in the dietary department of Hampshire Care in Leeds. She also had worked as a waitress in Hadley and for the former Myers and Mendelson Tobacco Co. in Hatfield. She was a member of Florence Congregational Church, a member and past officer of the Cummington Grange and a member of the Cummington Women’s Club. Her husband, Clinton D. Lynds, died in 1993. Besides her sister, she leaves a daughter, Sheila Gould of Westfield; two sons, Kenneth W. Lynds of Leeds and Richard D. Lynds of Florence; three brothers, Jesse R. Porter Jr. of Greenfield, Robert W. Porter of Westfield and Morris G. Porter of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Frederick D. Lynds. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Priscilla A. Lynds will be Saturday at 11 at PEASE FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Dewey E. Gierke officiating. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Cummington. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the funeral home, 425 Prospect St., Northampton. Mrs. Lynds was predeceased by three brothers, Wilbert H. Porter, Garfield H. Porter and William H. Porter, and two sisters, Margaret B. Sears and Arlene J. Twiss.
