Yvette M. DuBois, 90, of Northeast Road, Pownal, Vt., died Tuesday at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a brief illness. A former resident of Adams, she was the sister of Dorena LeBeau of Adams. Born in Chrysostome, Quebec, on Sept. 10, 1912, daughter of Phillippe and Honorina Bourdon Allen, she attended schools in Canada and Adams. She was employed at the former Bridgewater Paper and Sprague Electric companies. Mrs. DuBois was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in North Pownal, Vt., and was a founding member of its Ladies Guild. She was a member of the Pownal Senior Citizens Club and was instrumental in obtaining the use of the old Pownal Center Schoolhouse as their meeting place. She was a former member of the Pownal Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and painting. Her husband, Harvey E. DuBois, whom she married Nov. 27, 1929, in St. Peterâ€™s Church in Vergennes, Vt., died Jan. 12, 1990. Besides her sister, she leaves a son, Rene J. DuBois of Prospect, Maine; a daughter, Eleanor LaBonte of Pownal; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Yvette DuBois will be Friday, April 25, at 9:15 from the MAHAR & SONS FUNERAL HOME with a prayer followed by a Liturgy of Christian Dead and Burial at 10 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, today, from 5:30 to 8 when the family will be in attendance. The wake service will be offered Thursday at 5:30. Burial will take place in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pownal. If friends desire, charitable memorial contributions may be made to the Pownal Rescue Squad through the office of the funeral home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
