Stuart Arthur Tracy

Stuart Arthur Tracy, 66, of 145 Main St. died Wednesday evening at his home. Born in Cheshire Aug. 10, 1936, son of Elmer and Mildred Buckbee Tracy, he attended schools in Cheshire and Adams, and was a graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School. He served in the Navy as a Radarman Second Class from November 1954 to May 1958, after which he transferred to the Naval Reserve. He worked for Pittsfield Plastics Engineering for seven years, retiring in 2002. Prior to that he was employed by Greylock Plastics for 18 years and Pittsfield Mold & Tool for five years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cheshire. He was a bicyclist and enjoyed feeding birds in his backyard. He leaves his wife, the former Jacqueline Lewis, whom he married May 2, 1959; his son, Aaron M. Tracy of Cheshire; two daughters, Terry L. Barrett of Savoy and Holly J. Tracy of Pittsfield; a brother, Stanley Tracy of Cheshire; three sisters, Georgianna Kelson and Elodie Gaylord, both of Cheshire, and Patricia Kern of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Stuart Arthur Tracy, who died Wednesday, April 30, will be held Saturday, May 3, at 10 at First Baptist Church, Cheshire, with the Rev. Linda M. Shaw, pastor, and the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, officiating. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, from 4 to 7, at the DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Tracy may be made to the Cheshire Fire Department, the Adams Ambulance or to the first Baptist Church of Cheshire, in care of the funeral home, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA 01225.
