Avis H. Morrow, 65, of 1535 South Washington State Road died yesterday at home. Born in Gardner on Dec. 29, 1937, daughter of Leon and Janet West Gardner, she was a 1955 graduate of Chester High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Morrow enjoyed tending her flower gardens, feeding and watching birds and squirrels and caring for her pets. In her youth, she was active in 4-H and with church youth groups. She leaves her husband, John R. Morrow Jr., whom she married Oct. 16, 1959. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Jake Morrow of Pittsfield and Jeff Morrow of Hinsdale; three daughters, Janet Roylo of Columbia, Md., Pam Cohen of Pittsfield and Tricia Tompkins of Jewett, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Avis H. Morrow will be conducted Friday, May 9, at 11 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., by the Rev. Lyle Larson of Washington. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Among survivors are her four grandchildren, Josh Morrow, Janelle Roylo, Anna Roylo and Logan Roylo. She also leaves her sons-in-law, Fred Tompkins, Steve Cohen and Lou Roylo; a daughter-in-law, Chris Morrow; and a mother-in-law, Myrtle Morrow of Lebanon Springs, N.Y.
