Louisa A. Delano

Louisa A. Delano, 74, of Knickerbocker Road, Schaghticoke, N.Y., a native of North Adams, died Friday at home after a brief fight with cancer. Born on July 9, 1928, daughter of Ottavio and Maria Michelotti Vivaldi, she was a 1945 graduate of Drury High School. Mrs. Delano served in the U.S. Foreign Service and also had been employed at GE in Pittsfield. She was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul’s Church in Mechanicville, N.Y., where she was a lector and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. She enjoyed crafts and gardening. She and her husband, Joseph T. Delano, celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary March 15. Besides her husband, she leaves a brother, Isidore Vivaldi of Sudbury. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Louise A. Delano will be celebrated tomorrow at 10:30 at Assumption-St. Paul Church, North Main Street church in Mechanicville, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Stillwater, N.Y. Calling hours will be today, Sunday, from 2 to 6 at the North Main Street church. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to Missionary of Africa, 1622 21st Street NW, Washington, DC 20009-1089. Arrangements are by DEVITO-SALVADORE FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicville.
