Rose Marie Blair

Rose Marie Blair, 85, of 141 Veazie St., died yesterday at the North Adams Commons. She was born in New York City on Aug. 13, 1917. The daughter of Rosario Troia and Josephine DeBella Mantica Troia, she moved to North Adams as a child and attended local schools. She was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for many years, retiring in 1979. She then went to work for her son, John J. Blair, as a dispatcher for the Berkshire Livery Service in North Adams for several years. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and was a member of the Dr. George I. Curran Post 996 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her son, John of North Adams, she leaves a second son, Raymond Blair of Queensburg, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Rose Marie Baker, who died Jan. 1, 1973. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service to celebrate the life of Rose Marie Mantica Blair will take place at a later date. Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chaptels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include eight grandchildren, James, John, Robert, Frank, Gina and Shannon Blair, Zachary Harding and John Baker, and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Dana and Nicholas Blair. She was predeceased by two sisters, Nettie Angeli and Mary Troia.
