Joseph Anthony Falbo Jr

Joseph Anthony Falbo Jr., 67, of 13 Pinnacle Drive died yesterday morning at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown after a short illness. Born in North Adams on Feb. 17, 1936, son of Joseph A. Falbo Sr. and Elizabeth C. Cardinal Falbo Richards, Mr. Falbo attended schools in North Adams and Clarksburg. He was a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard and of the Naval Reserve Seabees in Pittsfield for nine years. Mr. Falbo was maintenance manager of the Pittsfield YMCA for six years, retiring in 1992. He previously was employed by the former Lev Hardware and Supply, the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, Philsan Construction Corp., for which he worked on the flood-control project in Adams, and Fitzgerald Construction, where he worked on the North Adams overpass. In 1971, he joined Monroe-Langstrought Construction Co., working on bridges in North Adams. He also worked at GE for a few years. He was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and enjoyed handiwork. He and his wife, the former Shirley Anne Dupre, would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary Sept. 22. They were married in Notre Dame Church in North Adams. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Denise Meyers of Adams, Linda Daniels of Thomaston, Conn., and Candace Tracy of Harwinton, Conn.; a stepbrother, Valmore T. Richards Jr.; a stepsister, Carol Ann O’Grady of North Adams; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Joseph Anthony Falbo Jr. will be Tuesday at 11:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 at Notre Dame Church in Adams celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
