Kenneth F. Torrey

Kenneth F. Torrey, 82, of 127 East Windsor Road died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Peru on Aug. 21, 1920, son of Thomas Torrey and Matie Hathaway Torrey Bishop, he attended the former Williamsburg High School. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Mr. Torrey was employed by Crane & Co. in Dalton for more than 30 years, retiring in 1982 as a night supervisor. He was a member of First Congregational Church, Hinsdale Grange 19, the Peru Volunteer Fire Department and the Peru/ Hinsdale Senior Center. He enjoyed gardening and raising horses and ponies. He and his wife, the former Marion Harwood, were married Nov. 28, 1964. Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, Thomas Torrey of Peru. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Kenneth Torrey will be conducted Thursday at 2 at First Congregational Church of Peru by the Rev. Luther Pierce. Burial will follow in North Cemetery in Peru. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the First Congregational Church of Peru Memorial Fund or the Peru Public Library in care of the funeral home, 25 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
